The utility called "capture" may be accessed by typing the following: capture A description from the man pages: "capture" is an interactive program to record digital media files from the camera, microphone and workstation screen. It provides four basic modes: recording a movie (uses both camera and microphone), recording a single image (uses camera only), recording a sound (uses microphone only), and grabbing a snapshot of the workstation screen. The current mode is set by selecting the video camera, still camera, microphone or snapshot icon from the menu in the lower-left corner of the capture window. In each mode, pressing on the Record button will begin recording a file of the given type. Clicking on the Record button will terminate the recording. (When recording an image, the recording terminates automatically. Also, when making a screen snapshot, you can abort the procedure by pressing the middle mouse button.) After recording your file, you may preview it by using the Preview command in the capture menu. To access the man pages for "capture", type "man capture". This will give you a complete listing of options that can be used. The image format for snapping images is an SGI file type. The movie type can be accessed by using "movieplayer".
